Unlike Sarah Wynn, my thumb is not the slightest bit green whatsoever.
I have one fern in my home, totally neglected, which for some unknown reason is still alive. My annual spring trip to the garden centre is for cedar mulch only, the sole purpose of which is to keep the weeds at bay in my ‘flower-less’ beds. Even my lawn is patchy.
But don’t get me wrong. I can definitely appreciate a beautiful field of flowers when I see it. And there’s certainly that and a whole lot more at Wynn Farm’s brand new Flower Fields in Adolphustown.
Sarah Wynn and her crew have been planning this fun agri-tourism experience for more than two years. Located just a few kilometres west of their long-standing apple orchard, Wynn’s Farms Flower Fields at 9592 Loyalist Parkway in Adolphustown is sure to be a hit for anyone that enjoys walking among colourful sunflowers.
They have several fields of sunflowers, each planted at different times throughout the spring to extend the season, making it Ontario’s longest-blooming sunflower farm! They also have a variety of pick-your-own flowers where you can create your own bouquets, available from late July until first frost. Pre-picked bouquets are available now.
In addition to friends-&-family picking, bookings will be available for small group sessions, girls nights, date nights, kids sessions, workshops and similar gatherings. For some of these themed experiences you can take home wonderful branded charcuterie boards made by Stone City Woodworks.
Be sure stop by their storefront for a scooped ice cream or a cold beverage. Admission to wander in the sunflower fields is $5 for ages 2-12 and $10 ages 13+. Pick-your-own sunflowers is $4 per stem. Pick-your-own bouquets are $40.
It’s sure to be a fun summer among the flowers down at the farm. Find out more at wynnfarms.ca.
