Tourism-related businesses in Lennox & Addington are now eligible to receive funding from two programs. Applications are now open and are administered by our Regional Tourism Organizations. See below for details.
RTO 9 – COVID-19 Tourism Adaptation Fund
For eligible tourism-related businesses within Loyalist Township, the Township of Stone Mills and the Town of Greater Napanee.
Program Details: The COVID 19 Tourism Adaptation Fund is a non-repayable grant of between $1,500 – $20,000. Applicants need to have a matching cash contribution of 20%. The grant will cover 80% excluding HST. Eligible costs include updates to health and safety protocol, alterations to accommodate social distancing, purchase of large-scale PPE or sanitizing equipment, cleaning supplies and for digital upgrades.
The application intake is open until February 15, 2021 at 4 pm. This is a first come first serve program, you are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
RTO 11 TRIP – Capital Projects Funding Stream
For eligible tourism-related businesses located within the Township of Addington Highlands.
Program Details: This program is geared specifically to tourism-dependent small to medium businesses and provides non-repayable funding up to 80% of eligible expenses incurred to modify operations to a maximum of $20,000. This program was created to offset costs related to one-time modifications and/or re-opening costs, implementation of health and safety protocols, and digitization measures.
Applications to this new funding stream will be accepted now and will continue on an ongoing basis until Dec. 31, 2021, or until funds are depleted. Priority status will be given to eligible businesses who apply by Thursday, Jan. 31, 2021.
Tourism Operators as defined by and according to Tourism HR Canada include:
- Accommodation (hotels, motels, resorts, campgrounds, and recreational vehicle facilities),
- Recreation and Entertainment (zoos, museums, theatres, sports facilities, amusement parks, government parks, heritage sites, hunting, fishing or outdoor adventure outfitters, and casinos),
- Food and beverage services (restaurants from fast service to fine dining, as well as pubs, nightclubs, cruise ships, and convention centres),
- Travel services (retail travel agencies, wholesale tour companies, or corporate offices with their own booking divisions),
- Transportation (companies that provide transport by air, land or water, and include airlines, bus companies, taxi companies, ferry services, and cruise ships),
Retail stores heavily dependent on tourism may also be considered.
