Take a ferry to an island

Spend the day on Amherst Island located in Lake Ontario. Not only has the island’s hamlet of Stella been declared by some as one of Canada’s prettiest towns but it’s also a great place to go birding and to see the many Irish dry stone walls that have been built there.

You’ll find everything from hawks to owls to migrating waterfowl and so many other species on the island.
