There’s something to be said for buying products directly from the place where they’re made. This is especially true when you visit a farm store.

On many occasions, you’ll get to speak directly to the hard-working people that crafted your purchase. You’ll see the hives where the honey was collected. You’ll hear the sheep bleating in the barn when you try on a pair of wooly mittens, or perhaps you’ll pet an alpaca moments before you take home a sweater made from its fibre. You can also sample a spoonful of maple syrup before buying the bottle.

Or smell the cow’s– Okay, bad example.

It means a little more when you can make shopping an experience. And when you give these items away as gifts during the holiday season you can really make yourself look good by saying you went the extra mile to find the perfect something or other.

Below are some fantastic farm stores that offer products made from materials grown right here in Lennox & Addington. It can’t get more local than this!
