Deerock Lake

Absolutely stunning

Located within the Elzevir Peatlands Conservation Reserve this area has one of the largest, mostly continuous peatlands in Southern Ontario.

Deerock Lake is also home to a variety of fish, making it a popular place to come out and fish. During the “in season” passes/permits may be obtained by the attendant on duty. While you’re there you may also spot a variety of wildlife including; elk, black bear, deer and moose.

The small but pristine lake is a paddlers paradise. On a calm day the lake is so still that they only ripple in the lake will be those made by your oar or by the occasional fish coming up to the surface.

Camping

Although this is an unmaintained conservation area, there are 26 campsites in this area, including a few found on small islands. If you come to camp please be respectful that this is a take nothing but pictures and leave nothing but footprints area.

Accommodations close by

There are quite a few options in the area to rest your head after a great day outdoors. Close by you’ll find Bon Echo Provincial Park. If you’d rather not pack all that camping gear, nearby there are a variety of comfortable motels to relax and reminisce about your wonderful day.
